When should I shut down my system for winter?
The short answer? Before it freezes!
The timeline will vary every year for folks who can winterize their own sprinkler, but we make sure all our systems are put to bed by the end of October.
The first hard frost ends the growing season and after that there is very little value in continuing to supplement nature's water. Fall days will tease you with beautiful days but watch those nighttime temperatures and drain your system before it drops below 30 degrees.
